Virus Evolutionary Ecology Research
I trained in virus ecology and evolution as an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in the Turner Lab at Yale University and the Wang Lab at The State University of New York at Albany prior to joining the faculty at Queens College in 2007. Research in our laboratory focuses on investigating virus evolution, ecology, population dynamics and host range expansion with a special emphasis on rotaviruses and bacteriophages. Additionally, the laboratory isolates and characterizes the phages of the most dangerous bacterial pathogens in order to provide resources for phage therapy.
